Role Overview / job description:

The client, who are in the Energy commodities space, are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst within the Commodities Trading domain to be involved in a key global transformation programme. As a member of the product team, you will play a pivotal role working with business stakeholders and technical teams in driving change and efficiency across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering: Working closely with key business stakeholders to understand processes, develop the business case, document requirements etc.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Work with large datasets to extract meaningful insights, providing analysis to support decision-making processes and strategies.
  • Solution Design and Implementation
  • Change Management Support
  • Work closely with software testing teams and the business to ensure solutions meet expectations
  • Working closely IT teams across the systems supporting the full deal lifecycle to develop solutions aligned to future business needs.
  • Identify potential risks associated with proposed transformations, assess their impact, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement mitigation strategies


Experience Required:

  • Direct experience with European Commodity Markets and detailed knowledge of associated Trading processes.
  • Proven experience of working with ETRM systems.
  • Exposure to the full deal lifecycle including at least three of the following:

-- Trading Entry

-- Valuation & Risk Management

-- Confirmations

-- Nominations / industry Interfaces

-- Operations / Logistics

-- Invoicing & Settlement

-- Market Data Feeds and Curve Management

  • Demonstrable experience of coordinating complex change.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
