Public Health Intelligence Lead

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Cambridgeshire, is currently looking to recruit a Public Health Intelligence Team Lead for as soon as possible until March 2025 on a rate of £30.71/hour PAYE - £39.22 Umbrella (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with 2 days per week in the office.


Responsibilities:


- Lead innovatively and creatively to ensure an epidemiological and population approach helps shape and influence the transformation of the organisation, system and partnership objectives.

- Taking lead responsibility for the production, development and promotion of specific public health information, datasets and statistical services within Cambridgeshire, with a focus on improving our data management and working with colleagues across the system on population health management approaches

- Monitoring and describing the health status of the local population through the analysis, interpretation and presentation of a range of information.

- Delivering analyses of NHS data and intelligence to support NHS commissioning as part of the statutory healthcare public health advice service to the NHS and for joint commissioning between the organisation and the NHS.

- Ensure the production of quality assured management and performance information for designated areas of responsibility and promote a corporate approach.

- Work collaboratively with public health colleagues, intelligence and wider colleagues to manage and meet their public health information and intelligence needs, particularly around service commissioning and monitoring.

- Work closely with the public health intelligence resource to manage and produce JSNA and Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments.


Essential Skills:


- First degree or equivalent appropriate relevant demonstrable experience.

- Master’s degree or appropriate relevant demonstrable experience.

- Leadership and management

- Expert knowledge of information sources relevant to public health, including NHS information sources

- Awareness of current national and regional public health policy, organisations and strategies

- Up to date knowledge of governance, policies and quality assurance mechanisms relating to national and local public health and NHS data.

- Expert knowledge of public health practice and methods related to epidemiology, statistics and analytics

- Expert knowledge of data and information management relevant disciplines, including information management systems and software.

- Proven experience of leading and developing high performing teams

- Experience of leading strategy development and implementation and evaluation of public health information programmes

- Significant experience of partnership working with a wide range of statutory, voluntary and academic agencies at a senior level.

- Proven ability in fostering positive and constructive relationships with and amongst team members, Members and with peers across and outside the organisation.

- Successful management of budgets and evidence of proactive identification and implementation of efficiencies and savings.

- Clear understanding of the need to engage with communities and promote good customer relations via active customer relationship management

- Ability to manage a large and diverse caseload and to negotiate deliverables and deadlines with customers.

- Ability to prepare meaningful and concise reports and presentations and to manage and participate in senior level meetings to achieve desired outcomes.

- Ability to engage in positive dialogue to achieve desired outcomes.

- Knowledge and experience of successful service change and organisational development.

- Knowledge and experience of how to effect cultural and behavioural change.

- Knowledge and experience of leading wide ranging service change projects.

- Excellent business and service planning knowledge and experience.
