London, United Kingdom Bartlett Swann LTD Full time

Location: Greater London

Employment Type: Full-time - Permanent

Salary: Up to £42,000

Start Date: ASAP

Bartlett Swann is a rapidly growing recruitment agency specializing in IT, Telecoms, and Engineering. We're passionate about connecting top talent with industry-leading companies. Currently, we are representing a well-established UK-based provider of cloud computing and managed hosting services. With over 40 years of experience, this company supports more than 15,000 organizations across public and private sectors with innovative IT solutions, specializing in cloud services, cybersecurity, data management, and secure connectivity.

Our client’s Greater London Data Centre is a cutting-edge hub where exciting technologies come together to provide essential services to businesses. We are looking for a motivated Data Centre Team Lead/engineer to join their team and take charge of operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

In this key leadership role, you’ll manage the data centre team (5 - 8 team members) to ensure smooth operations while delivering exceptional customer service. You'll be responsible for overseeing troubleshooting, ensuring customer platforms remain operational, and leading by example with hands-on work on both hardware and software. As a Data Centre Team Lead, you will be integral in planning, deploying, and maintaining network infrastructure, with specific focus on Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6 cabling standards.

You’ll be working closely with network installations, from cabling to equipment, and overseeing all aspects of data centre management. Expect variety, challenge, and opportunities for continued learning in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the data centre team, ensuring excellent service delivery and customer satisfaction.

- Oversee hands-on support for customers, resolving complex issues, and ensuring systems are fully operational.

- Manage network infrastructure installations, including Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6 cabling and connectivity equipment.

- Work with a variety of hardware and software, coordinating installations, cabling solutions, and troubleshooting.

- Ensure team adherence to data centre standards and procedures, providing mentorship and training as needed.

- Collaborate with other departments and third-party vendors to support customer installations and services.

- Take responsibility for shift management to maintain 24/7 operational support.

- Oversee the planning, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of network infrastructure in a live data centre environment.

We Want to Hear from You If You:

- Have hands-on experience with data centre environments, including Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6 cabling installations.

- Are experienced in team leadership, mentoring, and managing data centre operations.

- Have strong knowledge of OS installation, network troubleshooting, and experience with Cisco equipment.

- Understand the importance of great customer service and have the ability to motivate your team to deliver it.

- Are comfortable working within a 24/7 shift-based environment to ensure continuous support.

We value diversity and inclusivity in our workplace, and your experience may not be perfectly aligned with every requirement. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply—you may be the right fit for this or other roles.

What’s in It for You?

- Salary: Up to £40K

- Comprehensive training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and career growth

- Leadership role with hands-on experience in cutting-edge technology

- Holiday Trading Scheme – buy or sell part of your annual leave allowance

- Day off on your birthday

- Enhanced paternity, maternity, and adoption leave

- Access to a flexible Benefits scheme

What to Do Next:

If you’re ready to lead a talented team in an innovative, growing company, we want to hear from you. Apply today by submitting your CV to Bartlett Swann.
