Role: Executive Assistant

Salary: £38,000 to £40,000 per annum

Location: Predominantly home-based / remote within the UK, with a requirement to attend the RECCo offices in London from time to time. Commutable distance to London is therefore required.


Who Are RECCo?

We are the Retail Energy Code Company (RECCo), the owner of one of the key governance and market operation arrangements, the “Retail Energy Code” in the competitive retail energy market in Great Britain. Collaborating closely with energy industry stakeholders, our role extends beyond code governance. We are dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the retail energy market, supporting energy organisations to deliver excellent services that directly benefit consumers.


We work closely with various energy market participants, including energy suppliers, distribution companies, metering organisations, and Third-Party Intermediaries (TPIs) to build a retail energy market fit for the future. Our centralised services facilitate faster energy supplier switching, energy theft detection and analysis, code governance change management and metering organisation accreditation.


What you’ll be doing

Reporting into the CEO, the Executive Team Assistant supports the Executive team’s effectiveness by ensuring there is a high level of administrative support to the organisation and its clients. You’ll be accountable for a broad range of activities from basic administrative tasks, problem solving and query handling, through to actively contributing to projects within the team.


Your Responsibilities

  • Effectively provides professional administrative support to the Executive team and wider organisation
  • Responsible for managing diaries, organising internal and external meetings, organising events, and booking travel, hotels and couriers
  • Acts as the focal point for the Executive team and wider organisation, judging priorities and proactively working with many conflicting demands
  • Administers and minutes key meetings (up to Board level), including the management of team calls and meeting rooms
  • Collates and produces high standard documents for a variety of forums including team, Executive and other meetings, and reports / publications
  • Manages basic correspondence with clients and internal and external requests
  • Assists in maintaining and uploading content to the Company website
  • Maintains knowledge of Executive team whereabouts and disaster recovery contact numbers, making appropriate contact where incidents arise
  • Responsible for purchasing office supplies and sundry items
  • Manages the London office, including responsibility for room bookings and catering (if required), building inductions, access and key card process, the purchase of office supplies and sundry items required by the Exec Team.
  • Manages the onboarding of new staff (together with HR) and ongoing support of staff specifically in relation to ordering and maintaining IT hardware requirements.
  • Contributes to projects and activities as appropriate for the team e.g. project co-ordination, research, presentation and communications support and day-today operational activities
  • Acts as a reference point on purchasing, administrative and financial matters
  • Proactively identifies where additional support can be given to the leaders in the team
  • Creates and maintains any filing and database systems, carrying out regular reviews to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of these
  • Deals with confidential information in a diplomatic style


Essential Qualities

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience of providing secretarial and administrative support to an Executive team
  • Able to establish effective office systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience of processing financial data of arranging payments is desirable
  • Database management
  • Experience organising and administrating events is desirable
  • An inquisitive mind and the ability to demonstrate initiative and desire to develop into a larger role within the organisation
  • An active interest in entering the energy or regulatory fields
