General Manager - Leading Leisure Operator

I am recruiting for a fantastic leisure job in Plymouth for a leading leisure management operator in the Health & Fitness sector. This is an incredibly exciting business and their vision is to be the first-choice leisure organisation in the city, delivering excellent facilities and standards of service. This is a leisure job not to be missed.


We are looking for a passionate and inspirational leader for one of the UK’s busiest leisure facilities. Plymouth Life Centre has in excess of 1.5m customer visits per year

You will have overall responsibility of running the entire business. You will manage the HODs and ensure that your team are always motivated and driven to provide excellent customer service. Providing great service is a key focus of this role and as the General Manager, you will be leading this from the front. We're looking for an individual with the experience of managing a large team and driving the commercials with particular focus on fitness and swim school growth.


You will have a vibrant and driven personality, leading your team to be the best they can be and provide a proactive and fun environment for everyone who visits the centre. You will be managing a large leadership and will have regular dialogue with the senior leadership team.


What do we need from you?

  • 5 years manager experience in leisure industry working in both pools and dry side facilities
  • Proven track record of successful commercial management and service development
  • Experience in managing sites with Quest, and other Quality Awards
  • You will be highly motivated and have the experience of leading, managing and developing a large team
