You will be responsible for running the back office shared service finance function across all the UK&I legal entities, covering AP, AR and payroll. You will ensure that robust and consistent operational procedures are in place and adhered to. You will take ownership of service delivery to agreed standards, supporting the finance managers in the day to day running of the financial function.

What you can expect as the Finance Shared Services Manager:

We offer a generous basic salary and bonus scheme (dependant on your experience) . This is a hybrid role managing a team across the Midlands and Kent. The contractual working hours are 8:30am – 5pm Mon-Thurs and 8:30am-4pm on Fridays. We also offer optional Private Healthcare, optional Pension enrolment, Life insurance, and 25 days annual leave (not including bank holidays).

Overall responsibility for accounts receivable and accounts payable close process and monthly reporting:

• Coordinate and proactively drive the process among the stakeholders and ensure continuous process improvements in terms of accuracy, speed and understanding

• Ensure timely process of invoices and expenses

• Timely process of payrolls to strict deadlines

• Ensure compliance of accounts receivable and review customer exposure

• Analyse variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions

• Follow up on operation KPI’s ensuring they are fully implemented and consistent

• Ensure reliable financial controls are in place, compliant with the finance handbook

Budget & forecast process:

• Input to the budget and forecast process

• Develop and review financial budgets and forecasts

In collaboration with Finance Managers– drive towards meeting strategic objectives:

• Find the right sets of data, compile it to a flexible and user-friendly way

• Proactively perform financial and value adding analyses, unsolicited provide quality information, consultation and interpretation about the financial and business performance, identify financial risk and recommend effective solutions

• Working closely with all parts of the organisation, ensuring financial understanding is high

Team Leadership:

• Lead and motivate a team of functional leads, providing guidance and support for professional development

• Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing

• Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance, ensuring team goals are achieved

We are looking for someone with:

Essential:

• Relevant management experience within shared services

• Able to handle large amounts of data

• Management and leadership experience

• Managing a company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems

• Providing and interpreting financial information

• Able to work on own initiative & be competent with spreadsheets & computerised accounting packages

• Work with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out

Desirable:

• Experience from a manufacturing environment

• Knowledge and experience in the use of various ERP systems

• New system implementation

• Working within a group environment

Qualifications and Education

Essential:

• GCSE/A Levels or equivalent

• Computer literate

• Financial qualification

• Driving licence

Desirable:

• ACCA or CIMA part/qualified
