The Role 

The Bid Manager plays a critical role in our organisation by overseeing the end-to-end bid process. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage proposal submissions, and ensure compliance with frameworks and procurement guidelines. 

The role will report directly to the Sales Director. 

Responsibilities 

Bid Management: 

  • Lead the preparation and submission of bids, tenders, and proposals. 
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts, sales teams, and technical staff to gather relevant information. 
  • Develop compelling bid content, ensuring alignment with client requirements. 
  • Monitor bid progress, deadlines, and deliverables. 
  • Conduct post-bid analysis to identify areas for improvement. 

 

Framework Management: 

  • Maintain an up-to-date repository of frameworks, contracts, and procurement agreements. 
  • Understand the nuances of different frameworks and their applicability. 
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to framework terms. 
  • Evaluate new framework opportunities and recommend participation. 
  • Manage and execute the application for new frameworks including the successful re-application to existing.  

 

Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Engage with clients, partners, and internal teams to understand bid requirements. 
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders to enhance bid success. 
  • Represent the organization during bid presentations and negotiations. 

 

Risk Assessment: 

  • Identify potential risks associated with bids and propose mitigation strategies. 
  • Evaluate commercial, legal, and technical risks. 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations. 

 

Process Improvement: 

  • Continuously improve bid management processes. 
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous bids. 
  • Streamline workflows and enhance efficiency. 

 

Experience Requirements: 

 

  • Must be highly focused, energetic, self-motivated and able to work independently to exceed assigned goals  
  • Proven experience in bid management, preferably within a similar industry. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Familiarity with procurement frameworks and public sector bidding processes.
