Russell Taylor Groupare currently seeking a talented Mechanical Estimator to become a vital part of our clients Mechanical & Electrical Division.

About the Role: As a Mechanical Estimator, you will report directly to the Estimating Director and collaborate closely with our estimating department. Your primary responsibility will be to estimate mechanical services across various sectors, including commercial, industrial, and residential construction.

Key duties include producing precise estimates in a timely manner for adjudication and negotiating successful tenders through to handover with our delivery teams. Your contributions will help us achieve our business objectives.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess tender documentation and requirements to create successful tenders
  • Agree on tender values with clients
  • Identify and report on risks and opportunities
  • Maintain spreadsheets and prepare reports related to tender submissions
  • Collaborate effectively with the estimating team
  • Ensure tenders comply with health and safety, quality, and environmental legislation, as well as our own H&S policies
  • Produce accurate net estimates with detailed breakdowns for adjudication
  • Seek value engineering opportunities throughout the tender process

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar estimating role (preferred)
  • Estimating/Quantity Surveying qualification (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of estimating and quantity surveying
  • Full UK driving license
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities
  • Analytical mindset with excellent time management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to effectively liaise with clients and architects, fostering robust relationships
