Job summaryThe Service Manager is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas.To support the Senior Operational & Programme Manager in developing and delivering high quality, patient / service user focused and cost-effective pathways and services meeting the requirements of our commissioners and the Trust's business planning.To provide and develop a working environment and open culture which fosters high morale and commitment among all staff and promotes their well-being, professional and personal development.Lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets are met.Problems solve as appropriate and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues.To be a key member of the Division Management Team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times.The post holder will manage a team within the division.Main duties of the jobTo provide operational leadership for the Service with the Service Clinical Manager / Matron, to ensure the effective provision of high quality, safe clinical services for patients against agreed outcome measures, service level agreements, activity and financial targets.To provide strong, visible, inclusive and compassionate leadership across theTo ensure that effective strategies are in place for the Service and that key elements of the service are joined up within Divisional business plans.To ensure that the Service manages its expenditure within the agreed delegated budget and contribute towards the financial management of the Division ensuring any opportunities for increased efficiency are realized in liaison with the Service Clinical Manager/LeadTo lead on the demand and capacity profiling across the services within the Service, ensuring workforce plans reflect the demand profile and appropriate delivery of the requiredTo ensure processes and systems are in place to monitor the performance and activity of the service.In collaboration with the Service Clinical Manager / Matron promote effective structures and processes and a culture of delivery and collective working and ensure robust communication systems exist for the dissemination of information to Teams.To lead on developing Divisional reports and presentations to provide operational assurance at various committees and Trust-wide meetings where required.About usNorth Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.
