Tyman International products are sold into residential and commercial applications all over the world under the Schlegel brand for sealing solutions to aluminium, PVCu and timber applications, the Giesse brand for hardware systems in aluminium doors and windows and the Reguitti/Jatec brands for doors and windows handles.

What You’ll Do

For our company located in Newton Aycliffe, we are looking for a Buyer to join our Procurement team.

Your main responsibilities

  • Procurement of materials, goods and services – developing and maintaining a robust Procurement strategy for the areas of responsibility, incorporating all elements of Tyman International’s requirements.
  • Meeting the business requirements for: Financial budget, forecasting and reporting requirements; Governance and compliance requirements; Service and Operational requirements of the production sites.
  • Alignment and support of the business Sustainability aspirations through Supplier Relationship Management and planning.
  • An integral part of the wider Tyman International Procurement team, reflecting the business values during their activities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust vendor audit procedure in collaboration with other internal stakeholders.
  • Freight quotations, cost analysis and tendering process.
  • Procurement Administration – processing P/Reqs, placing P/Os, maintaining SAP/other data, invoice validation etc.
  • Managing open orders for critical items through to delivery.
  • Monitoring consumables stocks and replenishing as appropriate and in line with WC objectives.

Profile

  • Studying towards CIPS qualification (desired).
  • Demonstrable track record of garnering best value outcomes through Procurement methods and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in the management of a diverse supplier roster.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments would be beneficial.
  • Calm and composed approach to decision making.
  • Familiarity with SAP an advantage.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in analysis through modern IT and data tools.
