Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales Administrator/Credit Controller to join our sales and finance team based in Middlesbrough working for a well-established family business. Supporting the sales and finance teams, this is a diverse role which would suit candidates with a proven successful history in a similar role.

The role is fast paced, varied and requires excellent communication skills with meticulous attention to detail. Working closely with the sales and finance team to accurately process all sales administration and credit control requirements. As Sales Administrator you will be responsible for the operation of the admin side of the sales department with the support of the sales team. As Credit Controller you will be responsible for sales ledger management including overseeing and proactively managing the reduction of the company outstanding debt with the support of the finance team.

The Role

Handling the processing of orders with accuracy while meeting deadlines.

Creating sales invoices and allocating payments received.

Processing sales returns and credits.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Requesting payments from customers and when required sending out statements.

Identify and report issues with sales ledger accounts suggesting solutions where possible.

Prepare spreadsheets that report on the weekly aged debt position.

Ability to identify areas of concern with the aged debt at the earliest opportunity.

Ad Hoc reporting.

Assisting with any other duties as required by the sales and finance team.

The Candidate

Applicants must have a proven history working within a similar role.

Confidence to forge/develop business relationships with customers.

Be able to accurately maintain customer contact and records.

Be highly accurate, assertive and possess strong negotiations skills.

Possess credit knowledge to identify and investigate possible debt risk to the business.

Experience working within a small team in an office environment.

Good standard of IT literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel. Sage Accounts would be an advantage but not essential.

Excellent communication skills.

Strong attention to detail with a team player attitude.
