The role:

Business Development Managers are responsible for sourcing and securing new business opportunities, building strong successful relationships that support the opportunity growth to a point where they can be viewed as a long-term account and handed over to Customer Success.

Key to the position is not only a thorough understanding of the Construction Industry, together with the MSite offer – but also the ability to gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer need, their business culture and the motivations and influence of key stakeholders.

This role provides excellent diversity spanning from the very earliest client engagement, formal presentations, proposal and account engagement and expansion.

What you will do as our Business Development Manager:

  • Identify appropriate business opportunities
  • Prospecting activities – LinkedIn, email shots, referrals
  • Book and attend customer meetings/ presentations – online and in-person
  • Activity management – updating CRM systems
  • Oversee customer system trials in conjunction with
  • Issue quotes & proposals
  • Provide Tender responses – RFIs/ RFPs
  • Negotiate sales with customers where appropriate in order close the deal
  • Engage with the Operations Team for technical input on complex proposals
  • In-conjunction with operations, oversee and establish robust mobilisation plans to ensure smooth onboarding for new customers
  • Seek opportunities to upsell and develop broader account opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with customers across multiple contacts
  • Ensure structured Account Reviews are held on a regular basis with suitable customer contract
  • On accounts with sufficient growth [typically enterprise \ framework], perform a structured and managed handover to CSM
  • Establish structured Account Plans to support structured account development

  • Strong ability to multi-task and deal with a number of different opportunities at the same time
  • Flexible and adaptable

To have a minimum of three of the following bullets

  • To have a strong understanding of the construction market, operators, legislation and industry trends
  • To have In-depth knowledge of UK Construction technologies and vendors
  • Proven track record of at least 2 years in strategic sales and business development, within the construction industry
  • Strong network of contacts within the UK construction sector, with established relationships at C-Suite level
