Job Description

Core Purpose:


The main purpose of this role is to work closely with the Supervision/Management Team to coordinate internal and external training activity for the plant. The Training Co-ordinator will also design and develop some internal training packages utilising Alchemy & Synthesia our in-house Learning Management System’s (LMS),


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


Support Shift Managers to coordinate all bakery operative training and development activity across all roles in the bakery, Will also involve supporting other departments engineering Technical etc

Ensure operational skills matrices and training files are completed and updated

Prepare and keep up-to-date training templates and documents including certificates, procedures & risk assessments as required

Support Production Manager to identify internal and external training programs to address competency gaps.

Develop training aids such as new procedures, manuals, handbooks and PowerPoint Lessons.

Deliver training to current & new employee’s and agency staff in a classroom setting and out on the production floor.

Track and report on training outcomes, monthly KPI of activity

Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment

Support Managers to map out training plans for individual bakery operatives including refresher training

Conduct training / workshops where appropriate and assess operatives for sign-off

Conduct site inductions for both internal & external operational employees & contractors

Plus any other duties which may be assigned in line with business requirements.

Coordinate Baker Op Training & Assessments with Shift Managers & shop floor assessors, Via our online Bakery Op Training Matrix.


Main Job Requirements:


Education / Certifications:


Train Trainer certificate

Teaching Qualification L2,L3 working towards (advantageous or willing to learn)

IQA & CARVA Qualified or working towards (advantageous or willing to learn)


Job Related Experience/Skills


Good knowledge of food manufacturing operations.

Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator or similar role.

Prior training experience, delivering Manual handling, COSHH, Fit Testing and Hearing conservation would be advantageous.

Experience in delivering inductions to both agency & new employee’s.

Experience in delivering lessons, both in the classroom and on the production floor.

Prior Knowledge in writing/updating SOP’s, One Point Lessons and using LMS platforms, Alchemy, Techni-K, High speed Training & Synthesia.

Excellent PC skills, MS Office 365 Proficiency & PowerPoint Development is essential.

Excellent Communication skills with the ability to present information clearly both verbal and written at all levels.

Advanced organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.

An understanding of BRC V9, AIB, SQMS, would be advantageous.

Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as working at heights, around mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards.


Light physical effort is required such as standing, sitting, walking around, reaching, climbing and kneeling as needed: utilising fine dexterity, the ability to see, hear and communicate with colleagues as well as others by utilising professional etiquette.


Personal protective equipment, as defined by Guenther Bakeries, will be provided.
