Production Manager (Northampton)

Main Purpose of job:

To manage the sites resources, production plans and stocks to ensure the site operates as efficiently, smoothly and cost effectively as possible.

 

Relationships:

a)      Responsible to:                              Commercial Director

b)     Responsible for:                              Effective Management of the site output and workforce

c)      Liaison with:                                   Customers, all staff on site, staff at HQ, and the directors.

Job Description:

 

·        Lead the site, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

·        Communicate daily with the production planners and the packing team supervisor to manage resources and stock levels to allow us to hit required delivery dates efficiently.

·        Where capacity issues arise utilise packing teams at other Caps Cases sites, plan overtime, or book agency staff.

·        Manage warehouse space by controlling inbound stock.

·        Liaise with transport companies regarding collection times and delivery slots into depots.

·        Work with the Facilities Director to ensure maintenance and servicing of equipment and machinery is carried out when required.

·        Ensure that packing instructions are carried out in line with agreed specifications and planograms, carefully Quality Checking first off samples and sharing photographs with clients where necessary.

·        Support sales people with necessary information to ensure customers receive the service and quality required.

·        Adopt a continuous improvement mindset and ensure best practice is followed in terms of Health & Safety, Housekeeping and Compliance.

·        Take responsibility for supervision and discipline of site staff.

·        Expected to work flexible hours as required.
