One of my key clients is a pioneering leader in the design and manufacture of advanced vehicles, committed to sustainability, innovation, and excellence.

As the Head of Electrical at their Oxfordshire facility, you will play a pivotal role in driving the electrical engineering function forward. You will lead a team of talented professionals to develop, implement, and maintain electrical systems and components. This position requires strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the electrical engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive electrical engineering strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Technical Oversight: Oversee the design, development, and testing of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into vehicle designs, optimizing performance, efficiency, and functionality.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish rigorous quality control processes to monitor and evaluate electrical components throughout the manufacturing process, identifying and addressing any issues or defects.
  • Supplier Management: Manage relationships with electrical component suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality components and fostering strategic partnerships to drive innovation and cost-effectiveness.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to support project timelines and meet business objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to electrical engineering activities, implementing proactive measures to ensure product safety and reliability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant regulations and standards governing electrical systems in the automotive industry, ensuring full compliance in all aspects of product design and development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize performance across the electrical engineering function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the automotive or EV industry, with a focus on electrical engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems design, development, and integration, particularly in the context of vehicle manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices governing electrical engineering in the automotive sector.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and executing successful engineering strategies to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
