Pearson Hydraulics are looking for a Business Development specialist, external sales working, meetings out of our Lincoln head office. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, to join an innovative distributor leading the way in hydraulic services.

As a Business Development Manager your primary responsibilities include securing new business and delivering incremental growth, as well as developing and maintaining a suitable territory plan.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the company CRM system, ensuring your pipeline is followed up in a timely manner
  • Regular client visits, presentations, and product demonstrations
  • Work closely with your team to maximise sales opportunities and new business
  • Align with the customer, practicing open questioning and active listening looking for opportunities for “walking the plant”
  • Be well organised and prepared for the sales discussion, focusing on effective pre-qualification and using supporting materials
  • Apply solution selling at every opportunity, i.e. Diagnose, align and propose
  • Report all Sales activity and KPI’s to line manager and Group Sales Manager
  • Participate in regular Divisional Team and Sales Team Meetings as required
  • Complete and maintain accurate internal paperwork to ensure any order received is completed and visible by others
  • Achieve preset and agreed Sales Targets

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Knowledge of relevant industries
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to write in an engaging manner to suit a variety of audiences
  • Ability to process and interpret complex information
  • Strong prioritisation skills and ability to manage own workload
  • Ability to work flexibly
  • Team player
  • Ability to negotiate, make decisions and use own initiative
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Willing to participate in presentations

Salary

£40-42k dependent on experience, plus Bonus.
