Learner driver and Instructor training establishment


Role Description

This can be for either a full or part time position for a trainee driving instructor at Go Drive tuition. We are based within the Letchworth/Stevenage test centre areas, but are looking to expand into the bigger parts of Herts, Beds and Cambs. The training is provided by one of our two highly skilled PDI trainers, ensuring that your training is delivered to the highest standard.


The training consists of three parts -


  • Part One - Extended theory test (self study, signposted to apps and books needed)
  • Part two - Extended driving test (approx. 8-10 hours in car training)
  • Part three - In car coaching/knowledge (40 hours)


There are training costs involved, however, at Go Drive we offer a variety of flexible payment options, including -


  • Pay as you Go
  • Part funded by Go Drive and trainee equally*
  • Fully funded by Go Drive*

*Includes payback scheme


Once the 40 hours part three training is complete, the trainee will go onto a pink trainee licence until you pass the final part three test. Trainee PDI's current earning approx. £38-40 per hour, rising to £45-48+ once fully qualified.


Qualifications

  • A full UK driving licence, held for a MINIMUM of 3 years (with no more than 3 driving endorsement points on)
  • Be over 21 years of age
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Ability to read a licence plate from 90ft or 27.5m (with glasses or contact lenses if worn)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to interact and keep calm in a close proximity teaching environment
