We are now recruiting a new and exciting role who will be working closely with the Head of Operations and General Manager, to identify development and improvement opportunities by ways of internal audits and inspections, creating action plans and working with management team to improve quality of care, collect, analyse and interpret data to report to the General Manager.

Once completing probationary period you will be required to move into the role as a CQC Registered Manager.

Our Quality and Compliance Lead will support the General Manager in ensuring that our service is assessed and monitored against legislative and regulatory standards providing the General Manager with a clear view of compliance against CQC standards and other relevant legislation and good practice standards. You will identify any actions required to bridge gaps in compliance, identify the risks associated with non-compliance and develop action plans to address these. You will work alongside all members of the team to establish KPI’s for each area of operation and to streamline our QA processes and systems and support in training and developing our team to understand and comply with QA and Compliance processes.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Monitor and review compliance across the organisation, collecting and tracking information to ensure services and teams meet statutory and best practice requirements (e.g. in fire safety, health and safety, medication, equipment maintenance, incidents, etc). Highlight exceptions and liaise with internal/external stakeholders to support teams in timely and appropriate responses.
  • Collating information from a range of sources within agreed deadlines and maintain effective records of audit results, recommendations for remedial action and follow up as required.
  • Recommend strategies for achieving compliance and oversee implementation of agreed action plans
  • To be the first point of contact for complaints and grievances, monitor progress and outcomes against agreed KPI’s and ensure statutory notifications are made as needed
  • To be the first point of contact regarding safeguarding concerns, to make Registered Manager aware of any concerns and support in the investigation process as required, to make statutory notifications as needed, monitor and record outcomes
  • Support the Head of Operations in matters relating to safeguarding within the services and support Managers to carry out internal investigations and Scrutiny reports, where necessary
  • Review risk assessments and care plans and give feedback to PBS and Ops Teams
  • Lead in the assessment of services against CQC KLOES and other good practice standards
  • Continue building on strong stakeholder relationships that we have established
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure their reports and associated actions are recorded on our compliance system and we learn lessons from outcomes
  • To support Managers and staff to understand quality management and implement changes to policy and practices across the services to reflect improvements.
  • To comply with data protection and confidentiality legislation.
  • To comply with all relevant mandatory legislation in order to provide care solutions to our Clients.
  • To complete Risk Assessments as necessary, in line with current legislation. These may include field-based assessments, worker and client assessments.
  • Coordinate learning and development activities and assist in supporting Managers in regards to regulatory compliance and to ensure on-going effectiveness of the service
  • To develop and ensure effective systems are in place to demonstrate our continued compliance and to develop plans to ensure good practice in all activities relating to the care of our clients
  • Any other duties reasonably required to undertake as part of a Quality Assurance and Compliance role.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a Quality and Compliance lead role within a CQC regulated adult social care service or Proven Senior Management experience of service development and improvement in CQC adult social care.
  • Health and Social Care qualification
  • Adult teaching/ training or Quality Assurance qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of CQC regulations, health and social care legislation and relevant regulatory bodies

Essential Attributes

  • Minimum Level 5 Health and Social Care qualification
  • Flexibility to develop this new role to meet the on-gong needs of the service
  • Track record of Compliance in the care sector.
  • Sound Knowledge of CQC Regulatory framework
  • Ability to prioritise work and to manage a number of workstreams at the same time
  • Proactive and takes accountability for own actions and for meeting targets and deadlines
  • Excellent report writing and IT skills including use of Word, Excel and Power point presentations for example
  • Ability to communicate with persons at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience of supporting and engaging with vulnerable adults
  • A people person who is able to build and maintain great professional relationships and partnerships with others.
