Main duties and responsibilities of an Assembly Lead:
To adhere to all production documentation, instructions and drawings detailing the correct method of productionTo support and train the production teams new starters on the production line to enable them to build and assemble the Companys products to the required quality standards and at the required tact timesTo perform upskilling of production teams when requestedTo routinely check the quality of Assembly Operator output and ensure productivity levels across Assembly Operators remain consistently high to enable the Production Plan to be metTo be the first port of call on the line for Assembly Operator requests for direction on assembly or qualityTo observe all batch and serial number traceability requirements, ensuring these are upheld at all times and all records are accurateEnsure quality standards are consistently met and maintainedTo follow and complete all work in a timely manner, in the agreed priority and schedule orderTo maintain and promote good Health & Safety standards in your area and across the CompanyTo support all continuous improvement activities throughout the factory by participation in and support of the outcomes including efficiency gains and waste reduction exercisesTo help maintain manufacturing KPI (key performance indicator) targets as communicated from time to timeTo ensure that your personal attitude and behaviour is professional, respectful, and positive, acting as a role model to colleaguesTo use all tooling in a safe and effective manner for the purpose it was intendedTo actively engage in any Company training programs and cross skilling to ensure that your skills and level of training are of the highest obtainable level and that you are fully flexible and able to build the widest range of productsTo assist in reducing raw material wastage by acting in a careful mannerTo collaborate and communicate effectively with the support departments, (Sales, Design, Supply Chain) as required
Experience/knowledge requirements for a Assembly Lead:
Attained a minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) - subjects to include Maths and EnglishExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writingRelevant experience in either a Production Operator Role or similar factory/Industrial based role in a lean manufacturing environmentProficient in the use of Microsoft Word and ExcelA calm and methodical approach to training colleaguesFlexible, adaptable, and able to plan and set priorities for own workload and that of Assembly Operators in line with Production Plans
