Experience


  • Previous experience working in an ISP or service desk environment
  • Keen interest in IP networking and WAN technology
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good understanding of IP Networking, WAN technologies and Network security
  • Hands on experience in, implementing and supporting LAN/WAN network equipment, network protocols and communication standards (Cisco & Juniper)


Desirable Skills


  • Good knowledge of Firewalls (Juniper, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA or FortiGate)
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (one or more; SolarWinds, PRTG etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience of VPN and Remote Access solutions
  • CCNA or JNCIA certified - or working towards


About the role


  • Configuring network devices including switches, routers, firewall, as well as a good understanding of networking protocols such as VLANs, NAT and VPNs.
  • Provisioning of new services on our ISP core infrastructure.
  • IP Address Management and VLAN Management
  • Owning orders/projects for conception to delivery
  • Configuring MPLS/BGP/SDWAN
  • Firewall configuration - Firepower/Palo Alto/WatchGuard/ASA
  • Working with PM's to deliver projects/orders within agreed timescale
