Role Overview:

As a Cisco Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and manage our network infrastructure to ensure it operates at peak performance. You will work closely with our IT team to maintain network security, troubleshoot issues, and support a variety of networking projects. Your expertise will help ensure that our clients have reliable, secure, and efficient network environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and manage Cisco-based network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot network problems and outages, working quickly to resolve issues and minimise downtime.
  • Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, to protect data integrity and privacy.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support system integration, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure accurate records and compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated with the latest Cisco technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to enhance network performance and security.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Cisco Network Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in designing and managing Cisco networks.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
  • Experience with network security tools and practices, including VPNs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
