Are you a seasoned sales leader within the specialist vehicle industry? Do you have a proven track record of inspiring high-performing teams and exceeding targets?


In this hands-on Sales Management role, you will lead and mentor the existing team of Business Development Managers, while also serving as the primary contact for major accounts. You will exemplify sales excellence by accompanying your team in the field, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that drives results.


As the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for researching and identifying new business opportunities, including untapped markets, emerging trends, and potential customers. You will develop and execute strategic account management plans to grow business within major accounts and forge strong relationships with key decision-makers. Your technical expertise and commercial acumen will enable you to understand customer needs and develop tailored solutions that deliver value.


You will also play a pivotal role in shaping the company's sales and marketing strategy, including developing the route to market for new products. This multifaceted role demands a dynamic and results-oriented individual passionate about driving growth and innovation.


The products are niche and technically complex and most sales involve at least two, normally three, decision makers (procurement, operations and engineering) often with differing needs.

The company provides innovative power distribution solutions that optimise energy management in specialist vehicles, meeting the unique needs of diverse industries such as blue light, defence, bus and truck, offroad and construction. The products not only ensure compliance with health and safety regulations but also enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and protect valuable assets. The firm supplies Original Equipment Manufacturers and vehicle converters to integrate the technology into their designs, delivering superior performance and reliability to their customers.


The Ideal Candidate for Head of Sales:

  • Will be an experienced Sales Leader with 5+ years of management experience supplying components into the automotive sector, ideally specialist vehicles.
  • Will be of graduate calibre, personable, credible and possess superb people management skills.
  • Will be used to winning complex proposal led business with OEMs and be an ambitious team player that is highly success oriented.
  • Will have a background in engineering or technology, enabling you to excel in the technical sales aspects of the role.
  • Will be a visionary leader who can see the bigger picture and set ambitious goals for the team.
  • The role is National though the ideal candidate will be based in the ‘North of England’, i.e. Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria.
