Based in Exeter, we are now seeking an experienced Commercial Recruitment Director to oversee our commercial operations and drive business growth.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective strategies to expand our client base, maximise revenue, and enhance our market presence. The Commercial Director will lead a team of professionals, develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


Strategy Development and Implementation:


  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy in alignment with the company's overall objectives
  • Identify market opportunities, evaluate industry trends, and design strategies to capitalise on them
  • Drive business growth through new client acquisition and expansion of existing account
  • Monitor competitor activities and recommend adjustments to the strategy to maintain a competitive edge


Sales and Business Development:


  • Lead the sales team in achieving revenue targets and growth objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and strategic partners
  • Identify potential clients and develop effective sales strategies to secure new business
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring favourable terms for JMC Aviation


Client Relationship Management:


  • Establish strong partnerships with clients, understanding their requirements and providing tailored solutions
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure client satisfaction and timely service delivery
  • Proactively address client concerns and manage escalations to maintain positive long-term relationships


Team Leadership and Management:


  • Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing commercial team
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, developing a culture of excellence
  • Set performance targets, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement training programs to enhance skills


Financial Management:


  • Develop and manage the commercial budget, ensuring financial targets are met
  • Monitor revenue streams, analyse financial data, and identify areas for improvement
  • Implement effective pricing strategies and manage contract negotiations to maximise profitability


Marketing and PR:


  • Oversee and align the marketing function to supporting new client acquisition
  • Oversee the PR function to deliver key messages to the right markets at the right time
  • Ensure staff are motivated to deliver high performance, manage budgets and achieve social media targets
  • Ensure Website is current and dynamic and reflects the company product lines


Contracts:


  • Develop process for negotiation and management of contracts to ensure favourable terms and ongoing contract reviews


CRM:


  • Set exacting standards for CRM compliance. Be a champion of CRM and ensure that there are exacting standards of user participation
  • Spearhead the continuing development of CRM to drive client acquisition and retention


General:


  • Ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations
  • Identify and manage risks within the Commercial function of the business
  • Other duties as required by the business


Person Specification:


Essential:


  • Strong previous recruitment business development experience, ideally form a technical industry
  • Align with and demonstrate the core values of the business – Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity, Passion & Unique
  • Experienced line manager who possesses good leadership qualities
  • Ability to gain a strong understanding of all JMC services and the market we operate
  • Ability to undertake challenging conversations
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Possess self-awareness and an eagerness to learn and develop
