NIRAS is a multi-disciplinary engineering and environment consultancy, fundamentally committed to sustainable progress and service delivery across a wide range of sectors, and have an expanding international presence with approx. 2600 employees globally in 59 offices in over 20 countries. Our UK operations are growing rapidly, with over 160 professional staff providing process engineering, civil engineering, energy, environmental, international development consultancy, and project management services to a variety of clients.


Due to the exciting expansion of our UK operations, NIRAS are looking to appoint a QHSE Manager to further grow our UK capabilities. The ideal candidate will be business-oriented, attentive to detail, and able to apply their expertise across diverse projects. This is a real opportunity to help shape best practice as we grow our UK operations.


This role may suit someone currently operating as a Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Control Manager, Quality Systems Manager, QHSE Manager, Risk and Compliance Specialist, Corporate Governance Manager, or a similar position to these.



About the job


We are recruiting for an ambitious individual to implement NIRAS' global quality and risk management policies across our UK business. As QHSE Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our systems comply with both internal and external standards. Key duties include:


  • Developing appropriate policies and procedures for Board approval
  • Ensure continued compliance with ISO accreditation standards
  • Advising staff at all levels on quality and risk matters
  • Managing relationships with external auditors
  • Analysing incidents and overseeing investigations
  • Reporting to UK and Group management



About you


  • Expertise in QHSE, risk and compliance
  • Experience in achieving and maintaining ISO standards accreditation for a relevant commercial organisation
  • Strong business acumen
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to apply knowledge across sectors
  • Proven experience managing systems and processes
