My client are a well-known Retail business with a large presence throughout the UK and internationally. They are currently going through a range of initiatives to designed to improve the technology landscape, optimise business process, and to improve customer experience.

As such, the client are looking to bring in a Payments Technical Lead to support on two such projects related to payments. The first is to deliver a tap and pay piece and the second is to deliver a cashless initiative. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working on payments projects within a retail setting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Network connectivity of PED’s & removal of connectivity coding from POS
  • Work with PM & relevant parties to determine appropriate network standards design, considering
  • Work with Global Team via JIRA to design PED payment changes & failover options
  • Work with Global Teams to identify options to move PED controls from POS to Server
  • Work with PM & Finance functions to forecast transactional growth to ensure appropriate bandwidth is set for all traffic types,
  • Define PED software release windows & policy with Payment Service Provider(s), to ensure protection of busy trading periods,
  • Define protection of OLA traffic during PED software update downloads,
  • Define business emergency software deployment processes,
  • Work with PM to plan migration to new network design.
  • Work with PM to produce technical aspects of RFP for in store cabling & network change deployment. Work with PM to produce technical details required to deploy PED network/POS changes across the estate.
  • Work with PM to complete technical aspects of RFP for Cashless services
  • Assist in technical aspects to produce several viable options for tactical & strategic cashless solutions
