About the role:
We work to support our governance structure and sustainability strategy - which means ensuring that our board of trustees and board committees receive accurate and high-quality information to ensure informed decision making and working to reduce the impact on the climate and delivering wider sustainability benefits.

The Governance and sustainability support assistant role is based in the Strategy and Corporate Services Directorate (SCS), which is responsible for delivery of governance, facilities, human resources, legal, privacy, portfolio and executive office services. You will work closely with governance and sustainability colleagues and collaboratively with colleagues across the company to provide high quality administration support to our governance and sustainability function.

This is a great opportunity within our Governance team if you are looking to build a career within Governance and sustainability.

Responsibilities will include:
• Leading on the administrative support within the Governance Team, often handling highly confidential issues with the utmost discretion and professionalism. Ensuring all sensitive information is protected and shared only with authorised individuals as appropriate.
• Coordinating the arrangements for both in person and online meetings, often liaising with the Jisc Chair, trustees, committee members, our Funders and Owners, Jisc’s Executive Leadership team, colleagues across the business and other external contacts.
• Booking venues, catering and facilities’ support for in-person meetings and manage access and security settings for virtual and hybrid meetings, tracking and recording attendance.
• Supporting other governance processes, including inductions, board effectiveness reviews, and events.
• Supporting sustainability colleagues in delivering the sustainability strategy.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in an administrative role in a team environment
• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office suite and scheduling software
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to learn new processes and online systems and use effectively
