Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Darktrace Full time

As a Specialist Technical Author, you will work alongside the R&D, Design, and UX/UI Departments, familiarising yourself with the technology and establishing connections with the individual contributors responsible for these technologies. You will create technical materials to support our customers, partners, and the wider Darktrace community.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a medium-term technology transformation project, migrating Darktrace technical content to a new Documentation as Code platform. A successful candidate will work alongside the Product Information team to design a content strategy and migration plan and lead the implementation of the project.

This is a hybrid role, with a compulsory attendance of 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.

Within this Specialist Technical Author role, you will be leading the technology transformation project to migrate Darktrace technical materials and design and implement content strategies using industry best practices. You'll also be:

  • Researching and implementing feedback systems for technical content,
  • Technical document writing, editing, and proofreading,
  • Curating content and liaising with translators for multi-language support,
  • Reviewing documentation and providing feedback.

What experience do I need:

We are looking for candidates with experience in technical authorship either from software or scientific industries. You'll come with experience with technical authorship frameworks, docs-as-code platforms, and feedback processes. You'll also:

  • Be experienced writing technical documents or long-form academic material,
  • Have the capacity to work with a range of different skill levels, from experienced engineers to junior end-users,
  • Have a passion for detail and strong analysis skills,
  • Have a continual improvement mindset.

Join us in creating impactful technical documents and enhancing user experiences in the technology sector.

Benefits we offer:

  • 23 days' holiday + all public holidays, rising to 25 days after 2 years of service,
  • Additional day off for your birthday,
  • Private medical insurance which covers you, your cohabiting partner, and children,
  • Life insurance of 4 times your base salary,
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme,
  • Enhanced family leave,
  • Confidential Employee Assistance Program,
  • Cycle to work scheme.
