Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Darktrace Full time

What will I be doing:

The Specialist Technical Author (AI) role is an independent, technical content-focused role. You will work directly with Darktrace researchers, mathematicians, and AI specialists to produce technical materials that illustrate the novel techniques and approaches developed by the Darktrace Cyber AI Research Center.

An ideal candidate has some prior experience writing news articles, technical blogs, white papers, or academic papers which cover Machine Learning, AI, or associated technologies.

This is a hybrid role, with a compulsory attendance of 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.

As a Specialist Technical Author (AI), you will be liaising with Darktrace researchers to understand new technology and techniques. You'll be producing both short and long-form technical content to illustrate these discoveries. You'll also be:

  • Creating visuals and diagrams to explain AI systems,
  • Reviewing technical marketing materials and collaborating on new content,
  • Working directly with the Darktrace Product, Corporate Communications, and Marketing teams.

What experience do I need:

We are looking for candidates who have experience writing material such as technical blogs, white papers, or academic papers which cover Machine Learning, AI, or associated technologies. You should also have experience writing technical documents or long-form technical material such as academic papers. You'll also come with:

  • Experience creating technical diagrams and data visualization.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • A strong sense of narrative and storytelling.
  • Continual improvement mindset.

Benefits we offer:

  • 23 days' holiday + all public holidays, rising to 25 days after 2 years of service,
  • Additional day off for your birthday,
  • Private medical insurance which covers you, your cohabiting partner, and children,
  • Life insurance of 4 times your base salary,
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme,
  • Enhanced family leave,
  • Confidential Employee Assistance Program,
  • Cycle to work scheme.
