The STH Group collaborates with event owners to elevate the world's largest sporting events. We are currently seeking a Head of Marketing (Group and UK) for a maternity cover contract until 30th November 2025.


In this role, you will lead the UK strategy while aligning and deploying global marketing efforts. Your focus in the UK will be on driving brand visibility, revenue growth, and cost efficiency, all while leading a high-performing team of three direct reports. On a global scale, you will manage the STH brand, oversee CRM, marketing automation, and e-commerce integration, and lead the global social media strategy.


We’re seeking a candidate who is not only strategic, data-driven, and technically proficient but also possesses a creative mindset. The ideal individual will have robust line management experience, a process-driven approach, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships, including technical stakeholders and sporting rights holders.


Additionally, flexibility as part of our international hours policy—particularly for our teams in New Zealand and Australia—will be an essential aspect of this role.


What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Lead the development and execution of the STH global marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and regional marketing teams.
  • Define and implement strategies for our central digital platforms, encompassing eCommerce development, social media presence, and customer journeys, as well as Marketing lead for the global technical and digital transformation. Collaborate with regional teams to guarantee successful deployment.
  • Direct the global rollout and management of the new CRM system, marketing automation, and e-commerce platforms, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for regional teams.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans for the UK office and its projects. Manage annual plans, budgets, and key channels for each event —such as digital media, PR, and brand marketing—to achieve business goals.
  • Take ownership of the UK marketing budget and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives while driving both financial and strategic outcomes.
  • Lead the STH brand strategy to enhance awareness among diverse customer profiles, ensuring consistency across digital, social media, marketing materials, and events. Collaborate with Sodexo Live global marketing leaders as global Marketing and Communications lead for STH.
  • Establish and maintain reporting structures for UK projects, ensuring all stakeholders, including Rights Holders, are kept informed of marketing progress and performance.
  • Implement and track marketing measurement tactics across all UK workstreams, ensuring efficiency, delivering ROI, and meeting strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with key departments such as sales, operations, finance, business development, and HR to support corporate communications, including press releases, advertisements, and PR events, thereby enhancing brand visibility.

  • A strategic thinker with robust data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness and achieve business objectives.
  • Technically proficient with CRM systems, marketing automation, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong line management experience, complemented by a process-driven approach to team management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources effectively, ensuring high standards within financial constraints and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Expertise in maintaining consistent messaging across digital, social media, and event platforms, driving brand visibility.
  • Strong capability in integrating sales and marketing efforts through technology and data-driven insights to maximise performance.
  • Experience working with global teams, external agencies, and managing stakeholder relationships with Rights Holders.
  • Flexibility to work occasional early starts to accommodate international hours (particularly for New Zealand and Australia).
  • A keen focus on accuracy and thoroughness in project execution, delivering high-quality outputs in all marketing activities.
  • A strong ability to build relationships, foster collaboration, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
