As a Fleet Asset Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the fleet is maintained and operated at the highest standard with full compliance to all regulatory requirements.Working hours: Monday to Friday 45 hour week.Key Duties of a Fleet Asset Manager:Ensuring Company vehicles are serviced maintained and vehicle defects are repaired in a cost effective and safe manner whilst minimizing the time off the road.Ensuring that all assets are kept to delivery/removal plan timescales.Checking running costs of new and decommission sites and where necessary implementing new procedures to improve costs and downtime.Exercising key cost controls cost visibility and root causes of spend.Ensuring that the area under your control complies with all current legislation.Determining in association with the group businesses and Leadership Team new vehicle and/or trailer requirements and specifications.Liaising with the Procurement team regarding inbound assets in type numbers location and operating business.Reviewing current methods of operation and identifying areas for improvement.Monitoring the performance of service providers to include availability punctuality reliability and condition of the fleet and ensuring KPIs are maintained and actions put in place to make improvements where necessary.To be open and honest with colleagues and team members to ensure issues are addressed to minimise impact to the business.Managing and reviewing documentation in line with company and legislative requirements.Ensuring that all suppliers operate to the companys standards.Working with the Insurance and various teams to actively support the insurance claims process.Providing relevant KPIs for your lead businesses (e.g. VOR % workshop productivity cost tracking etc).Qualifications : Proven experience in a similar role within a Transport Operations environment.Working knowledge of fleet compliance.Strong knowledge of legislative requirements and fleet maintenance.  Problem solving in a pressurised environment.An effective communicator at all levels good verbal and written skills.Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages.Able to thrive in a highly competitive and demanding environment.Additional Information : As part of our drive to make Stobart a great place to work.
