My Product Path are recruiting for a Data Services Manager on behalf of a financial services organisation in Leicester. The Data Services Manager is responsible for leading a team of data professionals to design, develop, and maintain data systems and services. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and project management experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data professionals to deliver high-quality data systems and services on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritise development tasks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Manage the data services lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to ensure targets are achieved or exceeded.
  • Deliver projects to deadlines while ensuring adherence to data standards and best practices.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data services.
  • Develop standards and policies that guide the design of all architectural core solution components and assets.
  • Manage internal development for present and future enterprise applications and Enterprise Data Services, including the continued support the development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Maintain IT core systems skills matrices and recommend actions to meet development, engineering, and support requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate levels of controls and security considerations within internal development.
  • Regularly test and maintain all controls in your area of responsibility.
  • Documentation of design processes using core data principles
  • Contribution of data strategies and policies to ensure good data governance and data quality.
  • Understand and work within the Bank’s risk appetite and governance frameworks.
  • Maintain appropriate controls and security considerations in line with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the data quality control and analysis for inconsistencies and apply corrective measures.

  • Work alongside the BI Manager and Application Development Manager, to ensure support of all data-related projects.


Job-specific competencies:

  • Previous Line Management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a DBA or Data Developer within the MS Stack.
  • Excellent skills in TSQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Excellent skills in SPROC and Function development.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server (2017), Visual Studio, MS 365, .Net, .Net 5, C#, WPF, ASP.Net, REST.
  • Emerging Technologies:
  • Experience or familiarity with Azure, MS Dynamics, Synapse, or similar tools.
  • Understanding and experience with MS CDMs would be an advantage.
  • Experience in Snaplogic / ADF or other middleware is advantageous.
  • Experience in design, implementation, and management of data warehouse.


Compensation:

  • Circa £65,000 Basic
  • 10% bonus
  • 10% pension
  • 35 hour weeks
