Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Stockport

Role: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm


Doorassure are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team.


You will be working for a modern, forward thinking business; that believe the strengths, skills and personalities of their people are the key to the groups success. This is a permanent, full time role for which you will receive a highly competitive salary.

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join us, as we are currently enjoying a substantial period of growth due to recent contract wins.

As the Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of projects. You will control and maximise the company's profitability, protect the company's legal and contractual obligations under the contract and manage all day to day commercial issues.


Quantity Surveyor Key responsibilities, although not exhaustive:


  • Undertake cash flow forecast on projects
  • Maximise cash flow
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control
  • Value work executed by sub-contractors and certify interim and final payments
  • Value completed work and arrange payments via invoice or applications
  • Support the authorisation and submission of project variations
  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • Month end reporting and financial reconciliation of cost & value


Quantity Surveyor Essential experience:


Degree or other technical qualification


Strong commercial awareness


Excel, Word skills


Contractual awareness


Knowledge of Supply Chain management


What would the ideal candidate look like?

  • Experience of the full life cycle of several Construction projects,
  • Time served as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Pro-active good at planning ahead as far as possible as the project progresses, checking back to plans/programmes regularly.
  • Strong sense of achievement; able to drive projects forward, expects good standards of work and able to overcome barriers/ solve problems.
  • Organised, good at time management and prioritisation of work.
