Quantity Surveyor Job Description

Stockport Homes Group is a leading provider of housing and construction services, and we are currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our annual investment programme and contributing to our long-term asset plans.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all budget data related to our client's function, from strategic planning to tender evaluations. You will work to maximize value for money on projects while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, standards, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, on behalf of the client
  • Undertaking cost analysis for investment project work
  • Performing risk, value engineering, and cost control analysis
  • Advising on procurement strategies
  • Valuing completed works, agreeing, and arranging payments
  • Monitoring all valuations submitted in connection to capital projects and reviewing with project leaders

To be successful in this role, you will require strong numeracy and financial management skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and cost management systems. An understanding of financial reporting, contractual terms and conditions, and statutory requirements is also essential.
