CMC Markets is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager to establish and lead a new SRE function within the IT Production department. This is a key leadership role responsible for defining the SRE strategy, implementing best practices, and driving operational excellence across CMCs hybrid technology environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, processes, and tooling that underpin the reliability, scalability, and performance of CMCs global online trading platforms. This role offers significant opportunity to influence the evolution of service reliability across the organisation. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Define an approach to site reliability for CMC, including framework, standards and metricsLead the implementation and embedding of new approach across CMCs technology teamsEstablish best practices and ensure an ongoing focus on reliability, scalability and operational excellenceInfluence incident and problem management process, driving improvements to key platform metricsContribute to Post Incident Reviews, root cause analysis, lessons learnt and post actionsChampion stability and resilience across the trading platformsEnsure new systems are aligned with best practicesDrive improvements and alignment in observability and monitoring tools, improving MTTD and MTTRProduce analysis on SRE function performanceProvide guidance, recommendations and hands-on support to teams, promoting SRE best practicesDevelop and maintain a roadmap for continuous improvement of support and observabilityMaintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative trainingWhen dealing with all customers, clients, or colleagues, ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high-quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC MarketsTake all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentialityUndertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this roleRead and comply with CMC policies and procedures as they relate to your employmentComplete all mandatory compliance trainingKEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 2 years experience in a SRE function or similar in hybrid cloud/on prem environment7 years experience in IT operational roles working with highly reliable systemsExperience in modern development methodologies and languagesProficiency in implementing and managing observability toolsKnowledge of automation tools and methodologiesStrong understanding and application of ITIL processesExcellent oral, written and presentation skillsStrong stakeholder management and influencing skillsProactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and industry best practicesAbility to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team settingProficiency in Java, .NET and JavaScriptExperience working with AWS and Infrastructure as CodeExperience in supporting a trading or investment platformInformation Technology degree or equivalent experienceCMC Markets is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of gender, sexual orientation, marital or civil partner status, gender reassignment, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, disability or age.TPBN1_UKTJ
