Audio Visual Hardware Offsite Support Technician

Sheffield - office based

£30k - £40k per annum

Monday to Friday full time permanent role

My client is seeking an individual who is versed in Audio Visual Hardware to provide kit list support to the installation team who are performing installs across the UK.

You may come from an installation background and want to move away from the travelling that the role of an installer requires but would like to use your knowledge of the AV hardware in a advisory role.

As the Audio Visual Hardware Support Technician, you will be responsible for establishing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice for any core AV hardware utilised in the business which are then deployed to customer sites for their events.

Duties:

  • Analyse known issues/faulty hardware performing root cause analysis to understand and solve problems
  • Provide 3rd line support for issues and queries with in-scope hardware
  • Set up, deploy and maintenance of Audio-Visual hardware testing
  • Assist with the effective sourcing, build and deployment of new Audio Visual equipment
  • Responsible to ensure media players and encoders are built to the latest specification and adequate stocks are maintained at all times
  • Revise existing and design new customer IT/AV hardware, in line with the roadmap, with the support of other teams
  • Maintain a document detailing the approach to customer hardware, including consistent supply, setup, operation, support, continual improvement, reliability engineering, quality, life expectancy
  • Facilitate necessary brainstorming, review and change control meetings, and present findings to decisionmakers
  • Occasional visits to customer sites/ vendors, to support R&D/trails of new hardware
  • Documentation of instruction manuals and input into sales literature

You will ideally have experience with Media players, Encoders, Touch Controllers, Remotes, Digital Audio Processors, HDMI matrix and UPS

Experience of a CRM system (ideally Salesforce) is desirable but not essential
