Trainee Paralegal

Please note that this vacancy may close early if sufficient applications are received.Purpose:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Paralegal to join the Pursuer Personal Injury Team in our Edinburgh city centre office. This exciting opening would suit someone looking to start a career in motor insurance claims handling either from a legal education background or an interest in learning from the ground up. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.Hybrid working:This role would be based in our Edinburgh office with a combination of home and office working (working 2 days in the Edinburgh city centre office and 3 days from home). You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.Duties/Responsibilities: Managing own caseload of pre litigated claims predominantly RTA but with some PL/OL and EL claims; Pursuing claims from start to finish or to litigation under the CPAP and making full use of our case management system; Complying fully with agreed service level standards; Communicating with clients insurers expert witnesses and solicitors; Dealing with administration as required.Skills/Competencies required: Effective people skills (able to work well with colleagues clients etc.); Be compassionate and understanding; The ability to prioritise and organise your work and work to deadlines; To be organised and be able to work under pressure; Computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Word); Effective numeracy and literacy skills.You will be a team player with good attention to detail the ability to use your own initiative and to work to strict deadlines.
