We have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Accountant to join our client, a leading Accountancy Practice in the Cheadle, Stoke on Trent area.
You will be fully trained in-house and will work towards gaining an accredited AAT Level 4 qualification at a local college.
In this role it is vital that you can perform efficiently, with diligence and accuracy at all times. Attention to detail is a must have ability. You must also be hard working and have a strong desire to learn new things and improve your skills. A high level of patience will be required as the role takes time to learn (around two years), and it is important that you do not get discouraged and frustrated easily.
You will be shown how to understand and prepare accounting records and understand the double entry bookkeeping system. You will also be given time to study for your AAT qualification which will be done by day release at a local college.
You will learn and grow throughout your apprenticeship to be able to:
- Prepare bookkeeping records using spreadsheets and software packages
- Prepare VAT records from clients paperwork
- Prepare VAT returns
- Prepare accounts to draft stage
- Prepare self assessment tax returns to draft stage
- Deal with clients by telephone and in reception
The working hours for this position are Monday to Wednesday 8.30am to 5.30pm, Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 1pm. (30 minute unpaid lunch break) with day release to college as and when required.
After completing a successful probationary period, entry into a workplace health insurance scheme covering various benefits will be provided.
30 days annual holiday (including bank holidays) is included as part of this role.
Annual salary of £12,550
