This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to work alongside an evolving finance function and to progress with the needs of the business. The roleThe duties of the Assistant Accountant will include:
  • To prepare monthly accounts for two business units in line within group reporting deadlines
  • To advise and drive margin improvements through the reporting and analysis of project costing  
  • To challenge cost forecasts and drive margin improvements
  • To be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of accurate monthly accounts for key business projects, including variance analysis
  • To assist in preparation of valuations and supporting through to invoicing and cash collection on a timely basis
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance reporting 
  • To perform such other ad hoc responsibilities which may be required from time to time
The PersonThe requirements for the Assistant Accountant role are:
  • AAT qualified/Part Qualified accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Actively studying towards or planning to study towards your ACCA/CIMA
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting principles
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with an ERP system desirable
  • Able to work to deadlines and effectively under time pressures in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present confidently to stakeholders at all levels
