Health and Wellbeing Practitioner - Campsfield IRC Location: on site Salary: £20,571 - £24,554 per annum depending on experience Vacancy Type: Permanent Closing Date: 2nd December 2025 About The Role Are you passionate about supporting people to make positive life changes? We are currently recruiting for a Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join our dedicated team at Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre. As part of our integrated healthcare model, Forward Trust provides Psychosocial Substance Misuse Recovery Services on-site at Campsfield IRC. This is a unique opportunity to support individuals within the immigration system who are experiencing substance misuse, low-level mental health challenges, and wider wellbeing concerns. About the Role As a Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering tailored, person-centred support to detainees. Working collaboratively within a multi-agency framework, your key responsibilities will include: Conducting assessments of need, risk, and developing recovery plans Managing a caseload and delivering both 1:1 and group interventions Supporting discharge and release planning for continuity of care Promoting and signposting to relevant internal and external services Contributing to daily referral meetings and multidisciplinary reviews Maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with GDPR requirements Preparing reports and engagement summaries for official use Providing transitional support for service users pre-release or deportation Actively engaging in service improvement and professional development What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone with experience in substance misuse, mental health, or holistic wellbeing support. You’ll need to be a compassionate, proactive individual with excellent communication and partnership-working skills. Experience working in a secure or high-intensity setting is advantageous, but not essential – we value your ability to build trust and support service users through challenging transitions. Working in Partnership You will work alongside professionals from various disciplines including Healthcare, Probation, Housing, Education, and Community Support Services. Collaborative working is essential to delivering seamless care within the centre and beyond. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
