Role Overview

The Business Development Partner is responsible for improving occupancy levels at ivolve services across the UK. The role focuses on building positive relationships with referrers across the UK with a view to driving referrals into the homes and increasing the number of contacts known to the organisation. The role will work closely with a number of other areas in the commercial team so a collaborative approach is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing a proactive approach to referral generation through face-to-face meetings, targeted e-campaigns, personal emails and phone calls
  • Developing SOSTAC action plans to deliver occupancy targets
  • Identifying, unlocking and cultivating working relationships with new and existing contacts
  • Increasing the number of LA, ICB and LHB contacts known to ivolve
  • Working with referrers, commissioners, RPs and ivolve colleagues to remove blockers to move-ins
  • Supporting embargo action plans in preparation for reopening
  • Ensuring regular communication by email and phone with existing and potential referrers
  • Holding open days and other promotional events
  • Managing leavers to ensure minimal void period
  • Facilitating cross-border referrals to support occupancy levels in other regions
  • Working closely with Referral Managers to support referral conversion
  • Identifying appropriate referrals for new services in line with complexity defined in the business case
  • Working with Referral Managers and the Bids team to complete EOIs
  • Reporting competitor and market intelligence to the Head of Partnership Development and Head of Commercial Change
  • Supporting the annual fee uplift process through the strategic use of key relationships
  • Working with marketing to develop site-specific marketing material to share with referrers
  • Providing a monthly report highlighting key activity including meetings and meeting outcomes
  • Logging all activity on the company CRM system
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of health and social care markets, highlighting any policy or strategy changes to the Head of Partnership Development.

Other

  • Attending relevant conferences and events on behalf of the company
  • Ensuring ivolve representation at all appropriate provider forums
  • Attendance at commercial team meetings
  • Visiting ivolve homes on a regular basis

Essential skills

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a business development/commercial role in health and/or social care
  • Proven track record of increasing occupancy levels across multiple services
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Confident presenter
  • Good understanding of the social care market and its challenges
  • Good negotiator with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Articulate, confident and the ability to work as part of a dynamic, growing team
  • Proactive and forward-thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of HubSpot or other CRM systems would be advantageous
  • Full driving license and own vehicle
