Grafton Banks Finance is seeking a temporary Accounts Payable Assistant to support a well-established client in the Burgess Hill area. The role is intended to cover an initial period of three months, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs. The successful candidate will assist the Finance Manager in various accounts payable and purchase ledger tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier payments allocation: accurately allocate supplier payments onto accounting system.
  • Invoice matching: match purchase invoices to purchase orders to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Payment runs preparation: prepare mid-month and end-of-month supplier payment runs, including handling multiple currencies.
  • Credit card transactions: assist with the monthly processing of credit card transactions.
  • Bank reconciliations: conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate.
  • High-volume invoice processing: manage and process a high volume of invoices efficiently.
  • Ad hoc project support: provide support for various ad hoc projects as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Prior experience in an accounts payable or purchase ledger position is essential.
  • Availability: Must be available to start on immediate or short notice.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in using Excel (including vlookups, pivot tables) and experience with ERP accounting systems such as SAP, SUN, etc.
