Senior Azure Architect

Home based with occasional travel

Up to £90K + 10% bonus

A leading Microsoft partner with deep specialisms in public cloud, business applications and modern workplace large-scale digital transformation projects.


The role will focus on both Azure design and delivery responsibilities a with a focus on IaaS, PaaS and IaC.


**The successful candidate will either already hold SC clearance or will be eligible to obtain**


Responsibilities

  • Facilitate discussions with enterprise customers regarding the application of cloud computing to address intricate business challenges.
  • Lead customer engagements, taking ownership of all technical aspects of delivery.
  • Assist the commercial team in pre-sales activities to secure future business opportunities.
  • Execute technical customer engagements, creating high-quality design and implementation documentation.
  • Contribute to the establishment of standards for documentation, tooling, technology choices, and DevOps practices.
  • Architect and construct cloud solutions aligned with customer objectives.
  • Invest in continuous development of technical skills and soft skills.
  • Actively participate in our team community.
  • Effectively communicate complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Key experience needed

  • Hands-on Azure Experience: Demonstrated expertise in Azure design, build, migrations, and landing zone projects.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Proficiency: Skilled in cloud infrastructure, migrations, and modern cloud-native application design, primarily within Azure.
  • Track Record: Successfully built and provisioned large, comprehensive Azure cloud environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Azure Infrastructure as Code using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
  • Business Context Awareness: Interest in understanding clients’ broader business context and how technology can achieve their desired outcomes.
  • Enterprise Cloud Solutions: Designed enterprise-scale cloud solutions and technology change roadmaps.


Your technical skills should encompass some of the following areas:

  • Azure Compute: VMs, VMSS, App Service, Azure Functions, AKS, etc.
  • Azure Networking: Express Route, Virtual Network, ASG/NSG, Front Door, Azure Firewall, DNS, UDR, traffic manager.
  • Azure Management & Governance: Policy, Management Groups, RBAC, Bastion, Automation, Backup, ASR, Azure Monitor, Defender.
  • Azure Storage: Blob, Disks, Files.
  • Azure Migrations: Azure Migrate, 3rd-party tools.
  • DevOps Tools: Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
