DescriptionStrategy and Partnership ManagerWaverley CourtSalary: 65184 - 77845Hours: 36 per week 52 weeksThis is an exciting opportunity to lead the Councils partnership team and play a leading role in Edinburghs ambitious agenda to tackle poverty and inequality. As the Strategy and Partnership Manager youll be responsible for overseeing the citys ten-year Community Plan and the Councils equality strategy. The role involves working closely with key stakeholders and partners across the city advising leadership and elected members and engaging with communities on key decisions the Council must take to lead this important agenda.The Strategy and Partnership Manager will have an important role in driving the transformation and reform agenda needed to further embed the recommendations of the Christie Review. The successful candidate will form part of a city- wide partnership team looking to ensure all services are accessible relational and strength based.We are looking for someone with a wide range of skills including excellent communication writing and engagement skills understanding of political and council landscape and experience in leading change and transformation programmes. Reflects on both established strategic design principles and business models whilst encouraging use of more contemporary and innovative solutions where appropriate. Proficient people leader with expertise in leading and managing a team of specialist multi-skilled professionals where managerial responsibilities may be of both a direct and/or indirect nature.Identifies the unique talent development and support needs of reports forward planning appropriate interventions aligned with organisational objectives continuity and succession planning.Ability to deputise for line manager and represent departmental interests as required. Experienced in managing stakeholder relationships and representing organisational interests with a range of external bodies.Employs a partnership approach to working with colleagues at divisional service area and wider organisational levels promoting a research-led integrated consolidated and consistent doing so additionally demonstrates appropriate adherence to business plans governance policy and process frameworks and stakeholder arrangements.Demonstrable experience in successfully managing the varied interests of a diverse range of stakeholders in the delivery of services. Acts in a senior advisory and support capacity preparing proposals and recommendations to Chief Officials Elected members Committees etc.Knowledge skills and understanding:Demonstrable expert knowledge and understanding of the development of corporate policies and insights in a complex environment with a working knowledge of challenges within the public sector.Extensive experience managing corporate policy and insight services and related functions.Skilled in managing and implementing major project initiatives.Extensive experience of strategic co-ordination and support for policy priorities in a large and complex organisational environment.Extensive experience of working with key stakeholders in a large and complex organisational setting.A working knowledge of challenges within the public sector.Ability to develop and apply knowledge of other disciplines across the division and work across the division.Qualifications and training:Qualified to degree or postgraduate level in a relevant discipline or equivalent evidence of experience.Additional management qualification in a related discipline or extensive management experience at a senior level.
