Hybrid working

Location – Forbury(Reading) / Penner(Portsmouth) is weekly (2/3 days)


Role definition

  • You will work as part of a team supporting Operational Infrastructure at two customer sites based in Chalvey and Slough and representing HCL at Client head office in Reading
  • A key responsibility of the role will be to communicate to Internal HCL teams and the clients support teams.
  • You will be responsible for BAU activities as well as leading future upgrade projects
  • The role will require joining the out of hours support rota once trained.
  • The role will require on site (Forbury, Chalvey and Slough) working as per the customer requirements.


Mandatory Education, Skills & certification

  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Experience of delivering large scale projects
  • Perform queue-based hardware, software, and user fault management within predefined SLAs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • AWS, Microsoft Server, Active Directory
  • Experience of System center suite including SCOM, SCCM and SCVMM
  • Knowledgeable Storage Spaces, Hyper-V, VMM, and Windows Clustering
  • Mentor for junior engineers
  • Knowledge of OS Patching, upgrades, antivirus, and domain security tools


Mandate Requirement

  • Driving license and own car essential
  • Must meet requirements to become SC cleared


Desirable Skills

  • Citrix 7.15 or above, PVS or NetScaler
  • Microsoft System Center Orchestrator (Scorch)
  • PowerShell
  • CyberArk
  • IT Service Now
  • SQL, NetBackup, Rubrik
  • Redhat Linux, Oracle


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Must be able to attend Forbury site as requested by the client. This will mean, at least, weekly site attendance.
  • Must be able to drive to the client’s remote locations at Slough and Chalvey.

Work Location:

  • In person but some Hybrid available
