Elite Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a leading legal firm based in Birmingham City Centre for the position of Legal Cashier. This role is integral to the firm's finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, and transfers.
- Reconcile bank accounts and ledgers on a daily basis.
- Process billing, including raising invoices and credit notes.
- Ensure compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.
- Prepare and process monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Liaise with fee earners and support staff to resolve account queries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a similar finance role within a legal environment.
- Strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
