Employment Type: Full-Time (9am – 5pm, or 1:30pm – 9:30pm)

VCAD is seeking a Student Support Officer to join our London Borough campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our students throughout their academic journey. The role requires an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description:
The Student Support Officer is the primary point of contact for students. They provide comprehensive support and guidance to a diverse community of students throughout the lifecycle of their university journey. The Student Support team plays a critical role in helping students thrive academically, emotionally, and personally.
Reports to: The Student Support Manager, and the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support to students in areas such as academic progress, personal issues, and career guidance
- Act as the primary point of contact for students via email, phone, and in-person enquiries
- Answering enquiries and providing information, abiding by the universities policies and procedures
- Managing student attendance and absences as per the universities policies
- Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to identify and address student concerns, and provide feedback on academic progress
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student information
- Providing regular and accurate reports to the university and partner universities
- Organise and facilitate events and workshops aimed at promoting student engagement and enhancing the student experience
- Monitoring and tracking student attendance, academic progress, and behaviour, and intervene where necessary
- Enrolling and withdrawing students through the administration system
- Contribute to the development and implementation of support services and policies
- Ensure continuous delivery of quality service, acting as a representative of the university
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Experience in a similar role within a higher education institution
- Excellent customer service skills, and communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
- An understanding of the challenges faced by students in higher education and an ability to provide appropriate support
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Working in a fast-paced office environment
- Strong IT skills and knowledge in Microsoft Suites
