Are you a passionate and dedicated Humanities teacher with a specialism in History? Dunbar Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Humanities to join a thriving 11-18 mixed academy in Northampton. This role offers flexibility, with both part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE) and full-time positions available, allowing you to make a significant impact on students' understanding of history and the broader humanities.

About the Role:

  • Position: Teacher of Humanities (History Specialism)
  • Levels: Key Stages 3-5
  • Start Date: September 2024 (or as soon as possible)
  • Contract Type: Part-Time (0.6 FTE minimum) or Full-Time
  • Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons to students to GCSE and ideally A-level.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging curriculum plans.
  • Teach some KS3 Geography and/or Religious Education (RE) as needed.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in Humanities.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events related to Humanities.

Requirements:

  • A degree in History or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - applications from ECTs and more experienced colleagues are both warmly welcomed.
  • Experience teaching History at secondary level, including GCSE and ideally A-level.
  • Ability to teach KS3 Geography and/or RE.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities education.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
