This role ispivotal in ensuring the availability security and scalability of data systemsto support the organisations digital transformation its about shaping how data powers Northerns future.What youll be doing Leading a team of data engineers fostering collaboration innovation and continuous improvement. Leading the team in an agile way of working running sprint stand ups sprint planning retrospectives and refinement sessions. Including members of other teams in sprints where needed (e.g. analysts developers IT architects) Overseeing project delivery from start to finish managing timelines and quality standardsWorking closely with our Lead Data Platform Engineer and Data Analytics Manager to define and deliver data solutions that make a real difference.Collaborating with stakeholders across IT analytics and business units to identify data needs and deliver solutions that maximise value. Translating complex business needs into sprint stories with clear prioritisation. Acting as the key contact for senior stakeholders ensuring data projects align with Northerns wider digital transformation goals.About you Youll bring a blend of people leadership strategic thinking anddelivery know-how. You dont need to be the most technical person in the roombut you do know how to get the best out of those who are.Experience leading technical teams ideally in data engineering software development or analytics. Experience of agile ways of working sprints etc (knowledge of Azure DevOps is a plus).A track record of managing complex projects with clear confident communication. Strong stakeholder management skills able to turn business challenges into technical solutions.A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
