PMO Analyst – Financial Services - York (hybrid / remote)
Overview#TeamCandour are seeking a highly organized and analytical PMO Analyst to join the growing team of a thriving global financial services player working out of their York office on a hybrid basis. This role is pivotal in supporting the delivery of strategic data initiatives that drive transformation across the business. ResponsibilitiesAs a PMO Analyst, you will:
- Governance & Support: Maintain robust governance across a portfolio of data projects, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Project Management Tools: Manage the WAVE project management tool for updates on project status, milestones, risks, issues, financial tracking, and KPIs.
- Reporting & Insights: Provide insights into project performance using tools like Power BI, Excel, and JIRA, and prepare reporting packs for steering committees and risk forums.
- Financial & Resource Management: Assist in budget tracking, forecasting, and capacity planning to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, the Transformation Office, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Workshops & Continuous Improvement: Facilitate workshops and retrospectives to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
- Risk & Quality Management: Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies while ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
- Knowledge Sharing: Develop knowledge management practices to enhance future project delivery.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience as a PMO Analyst, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and JIRA.
- Familiarity with insurance data domains, including underwriting, claims, pricing, and regulatory reporting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt language and terminology to suit different stakeholders.
Your typical day will involve:
- Updating and maintaining project management tools to reflect the latest project statuses.
- Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Preparing detailed reports and insights for senior leadership and steering committees.
- Monitoring budgets and resource allocation to identify potential challenges.
- Facilitating workshops and meetings to drive alignment and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with governance standards and managing risks across the project portfolio.
