Interim Financial Controller - VC Backed FinTech 

6 month FTC - Potential to go perm 

£80-90K 

Central London Based (Hybrid) 

Start Date: ASAP 

Our client, a leading VC backed FinTech Payments business is currently navigating a critical transitional period and are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to provide leadership and financial expertise. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial stability and compliance of our rapidly growing business during this transitional phase. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee financial operations and provide strategic guidance to our finance team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our company in a critical interim role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to oversee the annual audit process and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Assisting with special projects and initiatives as required during this interim period.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • ACA qualification with 4+ years PQE, ideally from an audit background
  • Must have previous experience working for a FinTech/FCA regulated business 
  • Previous experience in the payments industry would also be ideal 
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing finance teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
